Prince visits Finland
If we had a king in Finland, he would surely welcome his relative, Prince Donatus Von Hessen, in his palace in Helsinki. Arriving Finland today, Prince has visited Finland four times before.
- Helsinki is a fascinating city and your countryside is really beautiful. Finnish people are friendly and reliable, Prince tells to IS.
In his opinion, Prince of Hessen Friedrich Karl did a right thing when he abdicated the crown.
- If he had become king, Helsinki would have isolated itself from the rest of the world. In my opinion, king wouldnt fit to Finland.
Kings grandson Landgraf Moritz von Hessen descends directly also from Queen of England
Viktoria, last dynasty of Italy and Emperor of Germany Friedrich III. His oldest son is Prince
Donatus.
- The story of our family is like a fairy tale. After the war our fortune was put into foundation, so I dont have personal fortunes.
Donatus works for real also. He spent his youth in the family farm. He has work experience as a banker, until five years ago he started to run the family foundation and winery.
- At least the future of the winery looks very positive, says Prince who has been awarded for his red and white wines.
Prince himself lives 60 km away from his workplace. He has a wife, princess Floria, and 2-yearsold twins Moritz and Paulina.
- We live very ordinary life. Of course, when invitations received, we will participate in royal weddings and christenings.
